What is going on? You might have realized already that Train Station Simulator (TSS) is in Early Access on Steam. Early Access game has many advantages and disadvantages. On the advantages side, the community can share their thoughts and we can develop the game further within these guidelines and suggestions. Moreover, many more content and fixes are coming every other day or week so the game develops heavily in these Early Access periods.On the other hand, disadvantages may come with this idea too. Early Access means that the game is fully functional but some features are not completely finished or may need clearance. Some other features are not yet enabled fully or net even in the game.
The biggest thing TSS is missing now is a guide and a tutorial on how to play it. How to play Train Station Simulator in very short? Your main task is to build and manage a train station. If you are a new player I suggest you to do the following quick steps:A: Start in Settings / Endless mode or Free mode in 1970B: At start you get one track ready and trains assigned to that track in your TimetableC: Open 'Build' menu (click or use 'B' and numbers) and select a floor tile.

Tile a nice big 10x15 area around your track. You tiles should connect with the black pavement along the road. You have to kill trees manually with the Zone Demolish tool.D: Build a wall around your station tile. Whatever direction you start to build the wall it will start no mater what the icon shows.E: Place a few doors to the street side of your stationF: Start placing a few OBJECTS ('O') and FACILITIES ('F') into your station.
You will definitely will need the following: few ticket machines, few vending machines, few benches, few information tables, a restroom facilities and trashcans to keep your station clean. You can rotate by the 'R' key!G: Place some public transportation connections to your pavement from CITY TRANSIT ('C') menu. Let's start with a TAXI STAND and a COMMUTER BUS station. Place them.H: In CITY TRANSIT menu you have to setup the bus timetable so your buses will start transferring passengers to your train station.I: You can hire some staff: cleaners, police offices, medical personal and workersJ: Train Timetable: you can set up trains to arrive to your station in the TIMETABLE ('T') menu and you can ONLY SET it between MIDNIGHT and 5AM.K: Your station is ready now and you can start earning money and expanding with many more objects and services. How about some tips and tricks I should know about?1. Passenger TypesCertainly there are a few tricks you should consider. TSS have right now 4 main categories of passengers: COMMUTER / CITYLINK / NATIONAL / VIP.The earning these passengers generate are the same direction up so VIP get the more money.
You can place a LIMO service to the DOWN part of your map by placing a LIMO Stand from CITY TRANSIT ('C') menu.2. VandalsThe messier your station and the more trash is around the more vandals are coming to your station to kick off your machines and make passengers unhappy. Keep your station clean by your cleaners and place more trashcans to keep them away and also have a police officer to get them before they kill any of your valuable machines.If they kick any objects a destroyed icon appears there. You can demolish that with the OBJECT / Demolish Tool3. Staff membersCleaners clean up all dirt from the station floor. Police Officers will make passengers feel more comfortable and will catch vandals if they are trying to do bat things. Medical personals will take care of sick or fainted passengers.
Workers will fix cracks appearing on the floor of your station time to time4. How to make money and I do not get my money right after?All earnings are credited at the end of the day. Ticket sales are not based only on the purchase of tickets but passengers have to be in a good mood to travel.
The better mood they are in the more ticket income you earn.VIP passengers can travel by any types of trains and they generate higher income.Also vending machines and restaurants generate income if passengers decides to eat or drink there.5. Passengers' mood menu?You can select any of your passengers by clicking to them and see how they feel and what their needs are.6. Staff selectionYou can use the 'CTRL' key to see your staff members more easy in a crowded station7.
