WorkNoFun says:Mini ReviewMy friends, if you have been missing the greatness that was once Suikoden during the psx generation then look no further. It is here at last and thy name is Suikoden V.Lets get to the bad first, the presentation gets a 7/10 in the game. The programmers really screwed up on this one. The scenes, though great, are jerky. The loading is pretty bad sometimes and there are few other quirks. Not that big of a deal though. Take a look here:Gamplay 9/10Pretty damn good.
What you basically got here is a improved version of the Suikoden II system with elements from III. Yes the skill system is back and is pretty good (not as good as Tactics though). Basically all the skill system does is give you stat bonuses but that's still added depth to the system. And also you can choose between many formations during battle in this game (rather than the normal 3 front and 3 in back). This also adds some depth to gameplay and quite frankly is key to doing well in normal battles. As for Major battles.well I still like II's system the best. Though this one in 2nd place. Real time battles that are much like II's.
So why do I think II is still better? Well it's because of the real time. I didn't get to enjoy battles like I did in II. I was always in a panic.
Though this is just nitpicking by me so most won't have a problem with it.Music 10/10Great music in this one. Even better than II surprisingly. Lots of remixes from old game but still has it's own great tunes.
What can I say. It's one of the better sound tracks to an RPG in a long while.Characters and Story 10+/10Holy cow! This where the game really shines. I don't want to spoil anything for you but this even better than II. Lots of good twist, lots or character involvement and everything you could want in a story.Graphics 8/10Not bad, but not the best graphics ever seen on an rpg that is for sure. After playing KH2 these graphics are quite dull. But it's still pretty damn good for Suikoden.Well that's it from me.
I have heard the second time through is even better. So if you are a suikoden fan and you don't have this game, shame on you. Go get now.I said NOW!:)Reviewer's Score: 9/10.
Gensou Suikoden III is an RPG and the third installment of the Suikoden series. Released by Konami exclusively for PS2 in 2002 in Japan and North America.
The game takes place 15 years after the events of the previous season when peace between the six clans at Grasslands and the Zexenc Federation is signed. Unlike previous versions of the game that only allowed the player to control a single character, this version will increase to three and use a new mechanism called ‘trinity sight’. From here, the perspective of the players to the in-game events become more visible. In addition, the special mechanisms from the old versions remain the same when allowing players to recruit more NPCs into their battle roster, and this number is up to 108 NPCs ready for you to choose. Your battle squad can be up to six people, each character has a different stat and can also learn many different skills. The runes system is also a symbol for the spells in the game, has many different benefits and is easy for players to customize. There are several minigames for players to entertain after each battle such as dice, card games, and horse racing. Megadimension neptunia vii mod.
